Fields of Application – Healthcare
Healthcare facilities are, of course, most exposed to the risk of cross-infections due to the presence of conditions facilitating the expansion and spreading of pathogenic micro-organisms. These occurrences of a pathogenic nature are due to various factors such as being in the same room as diseased persons, flows of visitors, activities that facilitate the spread of infectious agents, the selection of resistant and particularly virulent micro-organisms.
To decrease or eliminate the risk of infections it is necessary for surfaces, beds and accessories, equipment the patient comes into contact with, sanitary services and all the other surfaces touched by the patient to be subjected to strictly observed cleaning and sanitising procedures, in a correct way and at correct intervals. Traditional sanitising methods involve the use of disinfectant solutions. The limits of this method consist also of the difficulty of getting inside gaps or penetrating into rough or ridged surfaces, thus preventing total sanitising of the contaminated area.
Surgical Block
The Polti Sani System is able to guarantee correct sanitising of operating theatres and surgical blocks, significantly lowering the risk of cross-infections or those connected with surgical wounds. In an environment featuring a high risk of infection such as an operating theatre, the Polti Sani System is effective in reducing the bacterial, fungus and viral load, and therefore provides valid support in limiting the onset of nosocomial infections among patients.
CT / RMI room
The Polti Sani System can be used to sanitise areas outfitted for CT, X-ray and NRMI procedures. Since it does not leave any damp residues, it can be used absolutely safely on electrical/electronic equipment, provided they are not powered at the time. Furthermore, the Polti Sani System does not damage the areas treated, and can be used on any type of surface (plastic, metal, fabric, glass).
Wards
Wards are considered risk areas mainly due to the continuous coming and going of people (patients, visitors, healthcare personnel) and due to the presence of various potentially contaminating biologic fluids. The Polti Sani System can be applied on a large scale in these rooms, since it is effective in lowering the microbial load to below the safety level, and therefore reducing the occurrence of hospital-caught infections.
Waiting rooms
In the waiting rooms of a hospital or surgery where the number of people passing through is very high, it is necessary to guarantee a good level of sanitising in order to prevent pathogenic micro-organisms passing from one person to another, and thus infecting people who are already in poor health. The Polti Sani System is the ideal solution for this need. It lowers the microbial load and makes the rooms suitable for use by the people concerned.
Corridors
Corridors are places that make it particularly easy for micro-organisms to spread from one area to another, since they connect areas featuring different levels of contamination, such as wards, lifts, toilets and doors leading outside. The Polti Sani System is a rapid and effective methodology making these areas through which many people pass safe.
Toilets
In hospitals as elsewhere, toilets are a repository for germs that can aggravate the clinical conditions of people already hospitalised, thus leading to the onset of nosocomial infections. Thanks to the Polti Sani System, toilets can be correctly sanitised and used immediately without having to wait for sanitising to take effect. Also, thanks to the HPMed sanitising liquid, the Sani System is able to eliminate smells.
