The Sani System is an electromedical device for high-level sanitization in environments with a high risk of biological contamination (class IIA medical device for professional use). Fields of application: disinfection transport, sanitisation transport, infection transport

Fields of Application – Transport

The Sani System on “Frecciarossa” trains

Numerous tests were conducted in 2008 to verify the adaptability of the system to sanitise train carriages. The results obtained were very positive and resolved problems connected to the hygiene of the areas and comfort of the travellers.

As part of the new "FRECCIAROSSA" high speed program, on 14 December 2008 Trenitalia assigned the Serfer Company with the task of carrying out, at the Roma Termini train station, a new rapid cleaning and sanitising operation aimed at restoring the best environmental and hygienic conditions on all FRECCIAROSSA” high speed trains.

Trenitalia and Serfer have found the Polti Sani System to be the perfect equipment for effectively and safely sanitising the toilet facilities on these trains.

After the first few weeks of activity, both Serfer and Trenitalia have declared to be completely satisfied with the performance, reliability and ease-of-use of the Polti Sani System.

In the video you will find opposite, you can watch the Sani System being used for sanitising activities on board the ETR 500 trains.

Since means of transport are used by a large number of people, they feature innumerable sources of biological contamination that could lead to the development of infections. It is by now widely acknowledged that infectious diseases are transmitted far more easily and rapidly in closed environments through which many people pass.

Numerous cases of both minor and serious infections caught on public transport have been reported recently in the news. In similar cases, attention was drawn to the discomfort, claims and fuss made by users due to dirty and unhealthy means of public transport facilitating the expansion of unpleasant pathogenic organisms. These situations are often a consequence of insufficient or inadequate cleaning and sanitising. These operations must be carried out correctly and be subject to strict monitoring procedures in order to prevent public transport from becoming unpleasant places in which to suffer discomfort due to a dirty environment or worse, to catch infections that are dangerous to our health.

The methods currently used for sanitising consist basically of the use of chemical disinfectants. They feature several limitations, for example, they are of chemical origin so that they could cause problems and/or harm to the operator and to the surfaces to which they come into contact.

The revolutionary Polti Sani System can be used in places where there is a risk of biological contamination and in which it is necessary to keep the situation below a minimum safety level in order to safeguard public health. The Polti Sani System constitutes an excellent strategy for preventing the onset of infections as it ensures a high level of sanitisation within a very short time. It is the ideal sanitising solution for people working in the field of public transport, in which there is certainly a need for safe and very practical sanitising products that can guarantee excellent results and very high efficiency. In this way they enable great savings in terms of both time and costs.

The Polti Sani System – a class IIA medical device intended for professional use – delivers saturated over-heated steam at a high temperature (180°C) in combination with the HPMed sanitising agent. The system enables the microbial, fungal and viral load of the surfaces and fabrics to which it is applied to be lowered within only a few seconds.

By virtue of its easy use and great sanitising efficiency, the Polti Sani System can be used to achieve a healthy and safe environment both for operators and for users, contributing in this way to ensure a better quality of the service being offered.
